Job Summary
The Architect II / Project Architect plays a key role in the design, coordination, and successful delivery of architectural projects. This position requires a strong combination of creative vision and technical expertise to lead projects from concept through construction.
The ideal candidate will manage project teams, coordinate consultants, and serve as a primary point of contact with clients and contractors, ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Documentation
- Lead the development of architectural concepts and translate ideas into detailed drawings and technical documentation.
- Prepare and oversee architectural presentations, working drawings, and construction documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, building codes, and zoning requirements.
Project Management
- Manage medium to large-scale projects or multiple smaller projects simultaneously.
- Develop project timelines, track progress, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants (MEP, structural, landscape, etc.) to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Conduct site visits and monitor construction to ensure alignment with design intent and quality standards.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between the firm and clients on assigned projects.
- Lead design and coordination meetings, incorporating client feedback into project development.
- Present design concepts and technical solutions to clients and regulatory authorities.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Supervise and mentor junior architects and interns, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Review and ensure the quality and accuracy of documentation produced by team members.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
Licensure:
- Registered Architect or actively pursuing licensure (preferred)
Experience:
- 4–7 years of professional architectural experience
- At least 2 years in a project leadership role is an added advantage
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (mandatory)
- Working knowledge of SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong understanding of construction detailing, materials, and building methods
- Familiarity with Nigerian Building Codes, planning regulations, and international best practices
Soft Skills
- Strong design sensibility and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Salary Range: ₦400,000 – ₦500,000 (based on experience and project portfolio)
